Electra was born as Tara Leigh Patrick on
April 20th, 1972 in White Oak, Ohio. Already at an early age showing signs
of talent, her parents enrolled her in the School for Creative and
Performing Arts. She was completely involved with anything that she could
get her hands on. She danced and sang and it was evident that she was
equipped with some innate abilities. Hoping to attract enough attention so
that she could move out Los Angles she would often perform significant
roles in various musicals. In an effort to expand her young career, she
moved out to Minneapolis where she would begin modeling for Target
Department stores. It was not long after that when she would finally move
out to Los Angles. That’s when her career really began to erupt, and
within a few months she met the artist known as Prince. Immediately he
sensed unique talent in Electra and took her under his wing. Soon after
she was signed to his record label, but it did not perform as well as
originally hoped.
After her unsuccessful music career she began
to try and break into the television industry. First, by appearing on a
new Nickelodeon show entitled "All That".
In 1996, she took a break from television in
an attempt to catalyze her career by posing nude for Playboy. The idea
proved to be one of the most significant decisions she had ever made for
it marked the beginning for her true emergence as a celebrity. Shortly
after, she went back to the small screen and hosted MTV’s “Loveline” and
later “Singled Out”. With her TV career in full swing, and the offers
piling in she couldn’t be happier. It wasn’t before long that she was
selected to replace Pamela Anderson in the extremely popular television
show, “Baywatch”. She continued her dominance in the television and the
big screen by starring in various roles in Uptown Girls (2003),
Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005), and Monster Island (2004).
Electra has certainly not totally left her
mark on the television industry yet as she is currently working on a few
projects. National Lampoon's Pledge This!, Date Movie, and
Scary Movie 4 are all set to come out in 2006.
